Eliminates toxins after the holidays – When we think of Christmas, we think of party, family, gifts.
but we also come to mind excessive meals, alcohol, sweets, empanadas so typical of these dates. At the end of the day, one of the oldest ways to celebrate any event has always been through food, where banquets become the center of the entire celebration.
We could say, without exaggeration, that the food becomes the celebration almost by itself. Hence, one of the most typical (and urgent) New Year’s resolutions should take into account a good cleansing and detoxification that will relieve our organism of these excesses.
We have already said many times (and it is not bad to insist on it) that food directly affects our health and mood, hence the abuse at the table during these holidays can lead us to suffer symptoms directly associated with poor diet : exhaustion, digestive problems, heaviness … and all this can affect our own immune system, so we can become easy prey for seasonal illness.
Thus, these dates full of good purposes are ideal to implement a simple and effective detoxification program with which to cleanse our body. And we not only talk about the digestive system, no: also the blood, the liver, the skin … will benefit from this initiative.
We have reasons to spare, we are at the ideal moment and we recognize that the objectives are important. Now we just need to know how to carry out this cleansing of ourselves. Here we give you some keys.
The first thing we must keep in mind is that the diet we propose must be for a limited time. Do not become obsessed with it, once you reach your goal, it is advisable to return to normal dietary habits (without abuse or excess, obviously). Let’s stand between three and five days.
The products that will help us are as affordable as they are varied, and they can also be part of our daily diet, once the detoxification period has passed.
Liquids must be our most important accomplices: water, juices (if possible without added sugars) and broths offer rest to the digestive system while helping to cleanse the kidneys. To tone the liver, it is advisable to drink half a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon on an empty stomach.
It is also important fiber intake: rice and whole grain breads, bran, oats, nuts, fresh fruit and vegetables (if possible, organic). Among the latter, we will have excellent results with beets, radishes, cabbage, celery, watercress, broccoli (try making creams with any of them); the artichoke and milk thistle are also very advisable to clean impurities, and can be taken directly as food supplements. All of them are also important sources of vitamins.
